Church Knowle
A real Purbeck village with a variety of buildings built using local limestone. Arguably the prettiest building is Church Farm which is also roofed with local limestone. The church of St Peter is 13th century and triple chancel arch. This was restored and altered somewhat by the Victorians. There is also a monument to John Clavel, which has, quite unusually, retained all of its brasses – one of John and his two wives either side of him.
