Household Waste Collection
Purbeck District Council offer an alternate week collection
service for refuse and recycling.
The majority of households have been provided with a 240 litre
wheeled bin which should be used for any waste that cannot be
recycled and a green, 55 litre box for the collection of recyclable
material.
These containers will be collected on alternate weeks.
Bin too large?
If you find that your wheely bin is to large for the amount of
waste you produce we can offer a smaller bin (120 litre size)
Assistance for larger families
If your household contains six permanent members or more and
despite recycling as much as you can you are having problems
containing your waste we are able to offer an additional
container.
Need help with your collection?
If you are elderly or infirm and have difficulty moving your bin
or box we are able to offer an assisted collection service where
your container will be collected from and returned to an agreed
position.
Purbeck District Council’s main objectives in introducing the
Recycle for Purbeck Collection service are to offer a convenient
service, to increase recycling rates in the district and to keep
residents’ council tax at an acceptable level.
By increasing recycling Purbeck will be helping to protect the
environment by reducing the quantity of waste sent to landfill.
