All local authorities are
required to produce what is referred to as a “Fit for Purpose”
Housing Strategy. Each strategy has to be assessed as “Fit
for Purpose” by the Government Office for the region. Our
strategy was assessed as “Fit for Purpose” by the Government Office
for the South West (GOSW) in August 2006.
Our Private Sector
Housing Strategy was originally produced in 2004 and updated in
March 2008 in response to the implementation of the Housing Act
2004 and receipt of grant from GOSW directed at private sector
renewal for 2006/7 and 2007/8.
