Freedom of Information

The Freedom of Information Act

The Freedom of Information Act came into force on the 1st of January 2005.  You are able to request information that is held by the council. Whilst we normally are happy to provide information requested anyway, the act provides the legal framework that requires us to provide such information with a few exemptions, and provides deadlines by which we must respond.

The council has worked closely with other authorities in the Dorset freedom of information group to provide a seamless service throughout the county.
