Core Strategy Public Consultation – Planning Purbeck’s
Future
Planning Purbeck’s Future, the latest stage of the Core Strategy
was out for public consultation between Monday, 7 September
2009 to Monday, 30 November 2009. The document
includes policies for protection of the environment and sets out
where new development, including housing, retail and employment,
will be located over the next 20 years. It also includes policies
to manage development. The consultation is now
closed.
A report on the responses went to Council on 19 January
2010. This is available to dowload from the following

Further information on how policies in the
Core Strategy were arrived at is set out in the Spatial Options
Background Paper, which consists of 5 volumes, (Summary of
Issues, Challenges,
Vision and
Spatial Objectives, Development
Options and Development
Policies). In addition, the evidence base is also
available.
The Core Strategy has been subjected to a
Habitats
Regulations Assessment.
