Purbeck's Core Strategy (the new 'Local Plan')

If the Secretary of State decides to include the Western Extension within the final RSS, the Council will be bound by the document and will be required to implement any proposals through the Purbeck Core Strategy.

It is imperative that the Council is in control of this process with any proposal brought forward through planning policy, involving local people and stakeholders in decision making, rather than await a planning application that may not have been subject to local consultation and that is ultimately determined by an Inspector upon Appeal.

In preparation for this, we are already collecting evidence (as explained above)

We also hope to publish an “Issues and Options” paper for consultation this summer. It will ask your views on the proposal and importantly if it goes ahead, where this development should be located, what land uses it should include and what infrastructure is needed.

Your comments will be most welcome.
