Car Drivers Beware!

Several, nearly new, vehicles have been stolen recently in Wimborne, Ferndown and Wareham with the keys left in the ignition whilst the owner is unloading, defrosting their windscreen or working on site.

These have mainly been the 4 x 4 pickups like Mitsubishi Warriors  but there has been one new transit van and 2 new cars stolen.

We have a description of a silver Volkwagan Passat with the rear window replaced with a clear sheet of plastic which is tapped into place.

A vehicle matching this description was on a farm in Mapperton this morning at 10:00 am. 04 plate. Silver. Asian driver. Said to have bleach blonde hair at the front but there would be 2 occupants so that might apply to the other one.

We believe a theft is likely to occur today and we ask you all to use the 999 system if you suspect a vehicle matching this description. Incident 110 dated 29 Nov.

Please also consider your security and never leave your keys in the ignition as your car is not insured if it were to be stolen.

If you have any information regarding this message please call the Dorset Police on 01202/01305 222222 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting the reference number provided.

Thank you
