Children from Wool got their hands dirty last week as they helped clear the old tennis courts at the Kids of Wool buildingon Thursday 9 August 2007 to make way for a safe area to skateboard.

The children were joined by other local residents, PCSO Lindy Christopher from Dorset Police, staff from Purbeck District Council and members from Wool Parish Council in the community clear up organised by Dorset Police.

The aim of the clear up was to make safe the old tennis courts following ongoing complaints from local residents about skateboarders using the road.

With still more work to be done another clear up is being organised for Thursday 16 August at 4.30pm. Helpers are asked to bring brushes, gloves and plenty to drink.

PCSO Lindy Christopher said: “It was great to see everyone, both young and old, mucking in together and working hard to achieve the same thing - to improve the area so it can be better utilised by the local children. We hope to see more people get involved in the next clear up on Thursday.”
