Have Fun at Purbeck Aware

Dancing Ledge
Purbeck celebrates its rich and varied heritage between
Sunday 17 May and Sunday 15 June with a host of exciting
activities, events and displays as part of Purbeck Aware
2008.
Organised by the Purbeck Heritage Committee,
this year’s theme is based on the rocks and stone which form
Purbeck’s beautiful landscape.
Events include guided walks, rock climbing,
quarry tours, boat trips, children's activities and lots more for
the whole family.
The festival continues to grow in size and
popularity every year, enabling people to appreciate the great
diversity found in the area and help to make Purbeck even more
special.
Rachael Shefford, Purbeck Heritage Assistant,
said: “Purbeck Aware aims to help local people and visitors find
out more about Purbeck’s rich and varied heritage, and appreciate
all that our beautiful district has to offer. We look forward to
welcoming everyone to another exciting month of celebration.”
A brochure listing the details of all of the
events together with booking information can be found at the
Tourist Information Centres in Wareham and Swanage, local libraries
and at the Council’s Offices in Wareham, alternatively you can
