Children are in good hands at Purbeck
Sports Centre, according to a recent report by Ofsted.
Ofsted recently inspected the Sport Centre’s
Kool4Kidz children’s facilities and gave the Sports Centre an
overall Grade 2, judging the provision of facilities as good.
The Report stated: “Overall, the quality
of early years provision is good. Children enjoy attending
the play scheme, where they are cared for in a safe, relaxed and
friendly environment. They participate in a range of
activities, with the emphasis on opportunities for physical
activities. Staff are interested in them as individuals and
communicate effectively with parents to ensure that children’s care
needs are well met.”
Terry Peterson, Manager of Purbeck Sports
Centre, said: “This is a really good result. We offer
children a range of activities to stimulate their minds and keep
them active and we are delighted that this has been recognised by
Ofsted.”
Kool4Kidz was registered with Ofsted back in
2001 and provides a range of activities for children up to age 12
during the school holidays at the Sports Centre. Run by fully
qualified staff, there is a variety of activities available for
children to choose from, including swimming, arts and crafts,
trampolining, ball skills, rounders, table tennis and board
games. There is also a range of adult-led activities
including kitchen sink science, sporting challenges and T-shirt
design. There is a lift available to access the first floor
areas and staff work directly with the children and make themselves
available for sharing information with parents at the beginning and
end of each day to meet individual needs effectively.
The next programmed Kool4Kidz sessions will run every weekday
during this Easter, from 6 April to 17 April excluding Bank
Holidays.
