In 2000 Central Government gave local authorities the duty to
produce a community strategy in partnership with other organisation
and agencies and the community through local strategic
partnerships. This Community Plan for Purbeck, prepared by Purbeck
Community Partnership, sets out a shared vision for the
district. Its overall aim is, through working together, to
improve the quality of life through addressing social,
environmental and economic issues. Through joining together,
the partners aim to get added value. The plan was first
agreed in April 2006. This revised plan covers a ten year
period which reflects the strategic nature of many of the important
issues.
3 year Action Plans are under development and will be posted
on the website when complete.
