Conservation Area Reviews
As part of its statutory duties, and in accordance for the
Government’s Best Value scheme Purbeck District Council is
currently undertaking a review of the District’s 24 Conservation
Areas. The review will involve revision of boundaries where
appropriate, and production of a detailed Character Appraisal
document for use in informing the planning process.
The Review will be carried out gradually on a parish by parish
basis with consultations organised twice yearly in Spring and
Autumn.
The consultations will comprise:
- A six week period of preliminary information gathering during
which the public have the opportunity to contribute their views.
This will be held during either Spring or Autumn.
- A six week period when the Character Appraisal document and
boundary proposals will be available for public comment. This
will be held during the Spring or Autumn following the date of
first consultation. Details will be posted to all properties
affected by proposals.
Details of current consultations can be
