The
Centre has a 25m – 6 lane swimming pool with a depth of 1m in the
shallow end and 2 metres in the deep end. The pool temperature is
kept constant at a very comfortable 29.5° C/84° F. A pool hoist is
available to assist less able swimmers into and out of the
water.
Purbeck Sports Centre has gained Approved Training Centre
accreditation from the Royal Life Saving Society. The accreditation
is awarded to Centres who meet the high standards of lifeguarding
training through courses and in-house staff training. It also
recognises high quality pool facilities.
