Welcome to
the official tourism information website for Swanage &
Purbeck, a region of stunning coastal and country
landscapes.
With the traditional
seaside resort of Swanage, outstanding sandy beaches, the market town of
Wareham and
picturesque villages such as Lulworth, Purbeck is the perfect
place to explore at any time of the year.
The area’s unspoiled natural beauty offers wonderful walking and a breathtaking
setting for a fascinating heritage – Corfe Castle is just one of the many
historical places of interest. Purbeck is also the eastern
gateway to the Jurassic
Coast, England’s only natural World Heritage Site – the
unique formations of Durdle Door and Stairhole at Lulworth Cove
reveal millions of years of the earth’s history.
For the family, there is a wealth of attractions
such as Monkey World, The Tank Museum and Farmer
Palmers.
Located in the south-east of Dorset near Bournemouth, Purbeck
is easy to get
to and has excellent train links from London and the South
East.
We have a wide range of accommodation from high quality hotels and B&Bs, cosy
cottages to
caravan and
camping parks in the heart of the countryside; you can try
the local food
and drink in the cosy pubs and welcoming restaurants.
We look forward to seeing you here soon!
