Hardship Relief

What is Hardship Relief?
The Council has discretion to reduce or remit in full the rates payable on a property if it is satisfied that:

The ratepayer would sustain hardship if the Council did not do so; AND
it would be reasonable for the Council to do so having regard to the interests of the Council Tax payers in the District.

The grant of relief is, therefore, exceptional.
